At the 2019 Hulu Beijing Hackathon, 140 Hulugans tinkered away for more than 30 hours on 27 innovative projects. During this event, we were showered with various intriguing ideas, ranging from an auto-piloted aircraft to an app that automatically takes selfies.

Smart Video Ads by AI

Powered by state-of-the-art deep learning models, this project automatically integrates advertisement into specific area of the background (Wall, TV set, etc), incurring little disruption for viewer experience.

Xile.me (High on cats)

Xile.me is the app for cat lovers who are just too busy to have cats of their own. This interactive platform allows users to play with a real cat of their choice through live cams.

New Hire Personal Welcomer

With the rapid growth of Hulu, we now have a flush of new hires in the Beijing office and want to make them feel right at home. The New Hire Personal Welcomer will help seamlessly onboard Nulugans to dive right into the Hulu culture by delivering a personalized onboarding document that connects them to fellow employees with similar hobbies and clubs that they may be interested in.

If you’re interested in working on projects like these and powering play at Hulu, see our current job openings here.
